Luis Manzanares High School is going to participate in a Comenius Project since 2010 until 2012. The students in 1st B, Bach, and the teachers Mª José Molina, Mayte Clavero, Antonio Torralba and Pedro Antonio Galindo are going to collaborate on this project.
The main topic of this project is ‘Thermal Springs in Europe’. Its aims are several:
1) Using English language in real context.
2) Learning about other people’s culture in their own countries.
3) Investigating and learning about thermal sites, geography, geology and history in our region.
4) Learning about other thermal sites in Europe.
5) Practicing and implementing our ICT skills.
Moreover, we are going to travel to countries such as Portugal, Sicily, Greece and Austria during this course (except Sicily, where we will go next course); and the next course students from the previous countries will come here. Besides, we are going to go on a trip to visit thermal springs in Murcia.
From my point of view, it is a good chance to use English language in addition to being an excellent way to learn about other people’s culture. Apart from that, I think we will have fun.
